Sending Updates by Email

Kerika lets you share projects even with people who don't use the Kerika software! When you add someone to a Project Team, Kerika first checks to see whether your buddy is also a Kerika subscriber or not. If your buddy is not a current Kerika subscriber, she will get updates sent to her by email. These emails provide a succinct summary of changes in your project:

A sample project update sent by email

  • If an Idea Page was modified in any way, the email will attach a JPEG snapshot of the Page.

  • All changes to the project team (people being added or removed) are noted in the email.

  • If any document or picture was been modified, the new versions are attached to the emails.

  • If anyone attached a note to a Page or an item on a Page, the note is included in the email.

Normally these emails would be sent when you close the Kerika program, but you can also send them at any time by using the Send Email Updates button on the Tool Bar:

Every time you start Kerika your computer checks to see whether your buddy has signed up as Kerika subscriber: if she has, Kerika will send her a full set of project files so that her computer is quickly brought up to speed on your project, and now she can stop getting emails!

These email updates are sent through Kerika's server on your behalf, so that you don't have to provide us with the login information to your own email servers. And to avoid attracting spammers as subscribers, we have placed limits on the number of emails that any subscriber can send using our servers.
