We have a Linux packaging of Kerika, but there are a few caveats to keep in mind:
-
We tested Kerika on CentOS-4 and on Ubuntu Fiesty Fawn.
It worked a lot better on Ubuntu because double-clicking was unreliable on CentOS.
-
Dragging and dropping documents onto Idea Pages doesn't work: you need to use the
Project Tools or the File→Add Document menu option.
-
Our ability to support the Linux version is very limited at this time.
Download Kerika v1.2 for Linux
Clicking on the link above will download an executable file called Kerika-1.2-linux-installer.bin .
Depending upon your Linux installation, you may be able to unpack it simply by double-clicking on the downloaded file;
if that doesn't work, open the file using a terminal window.
After installing the program, you will have a desktop shortcut to launch the program.
The program will install in a folder called Kerika-1.2 in your home directory.
Your data files will be in a separate folder called Kerika , also in your home directory.
Uninstalling Kerika will remove the contents of the Kerika-1.2 folder and leave alone the contents of the Kerika folder,
so that you don't lose any project information.
