Menu Bar

 

The Menu Bar sits right at the top of the Kerika screen:

File menu         
  • New Collection: creates a new Collection for storing your projects.

  • New Project: creates a new Project.

  • New Folder: adds a new Folder Shape to your Idea Page.

  • New Sticky: adds a new Sticky Note.

  • New Label: adds a new Label on your current Idea Page.

  • New Shape: adds a shape (which could contain a new idea or Idea Page) using your preferred shape

  • Share Project: adds people to the project team.

  • Add Document: adds a document to your current Idea Page.

  • Add Note: adds a Kerika Note to whatever is currently selected on your Idea Page.

  • Send Documents: control whether your computer will send document updates automatically to the rest of the project team.

  • Preferences: set your User Preferences.

  • Use Template: use a Template to quickly set up a new project.

  • Create Template: create your own Template.

  • Share Template: share your Templates with other Kerika users.

  • Export As Picture: create a JEPG snapshot of your current Idea Page

  • Send Email Updates: send project updates by email to team members who don't use Kerika.

  • Print: prints your current Idea Page.

  • (Recent Pages): a list of recently accessed Idea Pages, for quick access..

  • (Recently Files): a list of recently accessed documents, for quick access.


Edit menu         
  • Copy: copy the currently selected items on your Idea Page; this, together with the Paste will let you share items across multiple projects.

  • Paste: paste items (that you previously copied) onto your current Idea Page.

  • Delete: delete the selected items from your Idea Page; you can always restore them later if you change your mind.

  • Select All: selects everything on your current Idea Page.


View menu         
  • Bookmarks: adds the Bookmark Bar to the Kerika screen.

  • Notifications: adds the Notifications display to the Kerika screen.

  • Network Status: adds the Network Status display to the Kerika screen.

  • Sidebar: opens the Sidebar view on the Kerika screen.


History menu         
  • Backward and Forward work just like on a Web browser: they let you navigate between a series of Idea Pages.

  • Collections: takes you back to your Collections page.

  • Add Project to Bookmark Bar: this bookmarks your current Idea Page.

  • (Pages visited and documents viewed): shows the Idea Pages you recently visited, as well as documents that you opened from within Kerika; clicking on an entry in this list will take you to the Page (or open the document, as the case may be).

  • Clear History: clears the list of recently viewed pages and documents.


Tools menu         
  • Project Tools: brings up a floating toolbar that lets you lay out a new project on your Idea Page by adding shapes, lables, sticky notes, etc.

  • Inspector: brings up a floating dialog that lets you decorate your Idea Page by changing colors, fonts, etc. (Note: these changes will show up on your project team member's screens as well.)

  • Conversations: brings up an instant messaging dialog that you can use to chat with other Kerika users who are online at the same time as you.


Help menu         
  • Online Help: brings you to the Support section of this web site.

  • About Kerika: tells you what version of the software you are currently using, and provides the usual legal cautions. (Note: Mac users will find this under the Kerika menu, in keeping with Mac conventions.)
